The plates are highlighting major stations of Serres' work for the development of the Austro-Hungarian State Railways beginning with his entry to the administration in 1867, depicting the construction of the Temesvar - Orsova route, the new Budapest railway station, Bridges etc. as well as prizes and honors in Serres' career. The events are illustrated with small views of stations, administration building, bridges, etc., and ornamental or allegorical representations.
Serres had manufactured a faksimile edition in black und white and in smaller format for the personnel of the Board of Construction which shows that the album contained more plates but the originals of these seem to be lost.
Each plate 56 x 65,5 cm. under passepartout, in a custom made card board protective box. Some plates soiled and stained primarily at margins.
Outstanding document in the history of the Austro-Hungarian Railways.
